Diagnosis accuracy of computed tomography in Wilm’s tumour taking histopathology as a gold standard in symptomatic renal masses at a tertiary care hospital, Karachi.

Background: Recent advances in imaging technology has made it possible to diagnose abdominal masses the early stages along with accurate image-guided localization of biopsy sites. Contrast-enhanced Computed tomography (CECT) abdomen is one such tool. This study aims establish diagnostic accuracy CT scans detecting Wilm's tumour. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional was conducted Department Radiology, Sindh Institute Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Karachi, from 20-10-2018 till 04-20-2019. A total 196 patients who were clinically suspected renal included this research project. CECT scan acquired. The final diagnosis based on histopathology. Results: Mean age our 13.4±5.7 months. 104 (53.1%) male, 92 (46.9%) female, respectively. Moreover, out patients, sensitivity, specificity, both positive negative predictive value for tumour by taking histopathology as gold standard found be 93.4%, 91.8%, 95%, 89.4% 92.8% respectively. Conclusion: It concluded results that Abdominal scan, despite its high radiation dose, relevant making a Wilms tumour, significantly helpful disease detection poor resource settings ours where usually present late treatment.
